The Congregational Church
of West Newbury
Believing that the church is called to be salt and light to the world, the West Newbury Congregational Church takes seriously the need to foster worship, fellowship, evangelism and discipleship among the churched and the unchurched in the Merrimack Valley. We endeavor to do this prayerfully and in love and power of the Holy Spirit encouraging one another to utilize our individual gifts. We take the teachings of Scripture as our guide in spreading the truth through the Gospel.
We will carry this out by making our worship an expression of our heartfelt praise and adoration to God: by insuring that our fellowship extends even to risking involvement in the lives of the Body of Christ - the Church; by proclaiming the gospel by any means and to as many people as possible; and by living as disciples through submission to the Word of God so that this quality may be reproduced in others.

The Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (4C's) is a theologically conservative denomination believing in the autonomy of each local church under the Headship of Christ. We are comprised of churches that flow from various streams of history including Congregational, Christian, and Evangelical and Reformed and independent Community churches. We are solidly committed to the basic doctrines of the Christian faith, but allow for diversity in those areas where Christians have tended to disagree. Our members hold strong convictions, but do not believe that Christians should divide over secondary issues. As an evangelical denomination, we are fervently committed to evangelism and missions for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
